On 28th February, Y4 are visiting Doncaster Museum to take part in two workshops which are ‘We Dig Archaeology’ and ‘Ancient Egyptians’.
The Ancient Egyptian workshop will give the children an introduction to life in Ancient Egypt. The children will participate in activities including reciting the steps of mummification, designing an Egyptian god, creating a comic book page about a scarab beetle and deciphering hieroglyphs.
The children will learn about primary and secondary evidence and they will discuss the benefits of archaeology as primary evidence. The workshop focuses on how archaeologists learn from objects from the past and the children will handle real artefacts.
