On Tuesday 12th June, Year 2 pupils competed in the first ever Sheffield Skipping School Festival at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. Twenty three Bankwood students attended, after working extremely hard during lunch time and after school clubs. There were six schools that participated, coming from across the whole city.
The events were split up into individual and team events, and with one paired event. There were four individual events, with a boy and a girl for each. The paired event had one pair of boys and one pair of girls. In the two team events, there was one with ten children and another with eight.
All of the children represented the school proudly in their Bankwood T-shirts. They coped well with the pressure of competition, with every child and group performing better than they had done in training. We are delighted to say the children won a total of 13 medals!
