Healthy Minds

During the summer term, the school council have been working with the Healthy Minds team to find out how we can improve the happiness of our pupils. They have conducted a student happiness survey on the yard and found out that the children would like role models to set the good example. Since then, the school council have met with the head teacher and have appointed 9 school leaders. These children are now working on this with the Healthy Minds team to help them become fantastic school leaders. The children are also being given lots of ideas for games that they can lead with the other children on the yard.

It has been another busy term for the Let’s Get Cooking Club! We have been working on our safe chopping skills to make lots of different healthy meals. The children have also been growing their own produce in Forest School and then bringing it to our cooking sessions. So far we have made a salad filled with vegetables, a chickpea curry and healthy pancakes with fruit. We have also created some healthy desserts using yoghurt and fruits. On our final session, the children invited their parents to come and enjoy the vegetable stir fry they had made. The children have all made great progress within our sessions and have been taking their creations home to enjoy with their family!
