In FS0 this half term we are reading ‘Owl Babies’. The story is about a family of owls who live deep in a dark wood. The children have enjoyed learning about nature by exploring clay, experimenting with Autumn colours, making collage pictures using leaves, using their senses to explore natural materials and looking for creatures in our outside area.
As the owls live in a deep dark wood, we have explored the dark. We have shone torches in the dark box to find out what is inside. We have found the dark areas in the Nursery and found ways to make them light.
We are looking forward to going on a woodland walk with parents/carers to collect natural resources and then returning to school to make clay nests for our owl babies. We know this will be a great experience had by all!
