FS0 have had a busy time this half term. We have welcomed some new children to play and they are settling in well.
Our key text, ‘Journey Home from Grandpa’s’, has inspired us to think about transport, travel and what kind of journey we could all go on together. The first journey we experienced was on foot. We all put on our waterproof suits and walked to Forest School. We made ramps and sent cars down into the water. They made a splash as they landed and everyone was excited! We followed the path around the Forest School area and played hide and seek.
Children have explored car tracks with paint, creating vehicles from boxes, listening to vehicle sounds through games, singing transport songs, making our own bus in the outside area and printing a road layout.
The Little Library bus has recently visited us. The children had the opportunity to climb aboard where they listened to stories, sang songs and rhymes with Anne from the young children’s library service. We cannot wait for her next visit.
Next half term, we are going on an expedition to the City Centre Library to have a workshop and story telling session with parents and their children.
