Year 5 Autumn 2

Since the half term break, Year 5 have continued to look at animal welfare. This time in the context of animals in the circus. We have been discussing whether wild animals should be banned from circuses, learning that this year, the UK finally took steps to ban the practice. We looked at the way in which animals are treated in the circus through writing a diary entry from the perspective of a performing tiger. We then held a debate to find out what we thought as a class.

In topic, we have used our circus theme as inspiration to start putting together our own circus show (no animals will be used, of course!) We have even been designing a snack for our audience!
