Art, DT, history, geography, music and computing skills are taught through enquiry projects. These projects provide breadth and balance whilst being rooted in creating real experiences for the children to motivate them and foster a love of learning. Every year group will study at least one project a year to promote citizenship. To raise the profile of these issues, these projects are also the basis of class assemblies.
Each unit begins with an enquiry question which forms the basis of the planning. Each enquiry is planned to focus on key skills in specific subjects. Lessons also incorporate opportunities for children to practise and embed core skills taught in other curriculum areas.
Specialist teachers are employed to teach weekly sessions of music, musical theatre and French.
